PCB panelization preview

Lay your board out in a production panel and see the panel size, the number of boards and how much of the panel is board before you order.

Runs in your browser – your files are not uploaded.

Small boards are assembled several at a time in a panel: the panel carries rails for the conveyor, fiducials for the vision system and tooling holes for fixtures, and the boards are separated after assembly by V-scoring or by routing with breakaway tabs.

Enter the board size or drop a Gerber zip or outline layer to measure it. The starting values are common practice for SMT lines; the production panel is reviewed with us before production.

V-score or tab routing?

V-scoring cuts a groove from both sides along straight lines through the whole panel. The boards sit edge to edge, so the panel uses little material, but every cut runs across the full panel and the board edges must be straight.

Tab routing mills a channel around each board and leaves small tabs, usually perforated with mouse-bite holes. It suits any shape and components near the edge, but the gap between boards takes panel area.

Tabs are placed on the straight parts of the outline: when a notch or a rounded corner leaves no room, the tab is left out and the preview says so.
